Karen Smith Karen began playing hockey for the Past High Hockey Club in Toowoomba when she was only eight years old.

By the time Karen was sixteen, she had been selected to play with the "Hockeyroos".

Karen was born in Toowoomba and still has strong family ties with the Toowoomba Hockey Club.

In 1996 Karen played in her first International game against Argentina.

Karen was selected as Vice Captain in the 1997 Junior World Cup, and won a Gold Medal in the Champions Trophy.

Karen again won Gold in the 1998 World Cup, and in 1999 she also won a Gold Medal in the Champions Trophy.

In 2000 Karen won a Bronze Medal in the Champions Trophy, and did the same again in 2001.

To date, Karen has 126 International Caps to her credit and has scored 16 International goals. She is also a member of the Queensland Scorchers Team.
